With Corporate Social Responsibility embedded in the heart of our corporate culture and mission statements, KARMART is committed to social responsibility and motivated to perform social service with a mindful conscious. We aim to consistently fulfill this responsibility by tapping on the strength of our internal teams and through collaboration with social entrepreneurs or any other body with a passion for social service. Such is the power as well as the key to the development of a progressive Thailand society with advancement that is sustainable throughout the years to come.
Throughout 2016, KARMART engaged in multiple CSR activities to drive contribution and awareness towards the less fortunate in the society. The company benefited 16 foundations with donations totaling approximately 2 million baht, and the beneficiaries are namely Foundation for Children with Disabilities, Royal Grandmother Mercy Project under the Royal Grandmother Charity Funding, SOS Children Foundation, Duang Prateep Foundation, Association for the Promotion of the Status of Women, Foundation for Orphan by The Thai Muslim Women Association of Thailand Under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, Foundation for Children Development, Chewitpattana Foundation Under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana, Association for Promotion of Developmental Activities for Citizens and Public Health Of Thailand. Foundation for Rural Youth (FRY), The Foundation for the Deaf Under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, Foundation For the Better Life of Children, Baan Nokkamin Foundation, Thai National Aids Foundation, Suankaew Foundation.

Apart from these, KARMART also contributed to the lucky draw conducted during Red Cross Fair 2016 to Friend in Need (of “PA”) Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross.

In 2015, the Corporate Social Service projects embarked by KARMART are deliberated as below:


1 Personality Development Training and Scholarship Grant for Panyapiwat Institute of Management in 2014

Together with Panyapiwat Institute of Management, Karmarts Public Company Limited organised a Personality Development Training project for students of the institution to instill life skills which would be useful for all students as they enter the working force. Mr. Pongwiwat Theekhakhirikul, Senior Marketing Director, not only volunteered himself as a lecturer and imparted useful narrations on how to develop positive personality traits, but also granted a scholarship to the institution on behalf of KARMART so as to provide educational support to all students in need.


2 Scholarship Grant for Panyapiwat Institute of Management in 2015

With the objective of supporting all needy students in their pursuit of tertiary education, Karmarts Public Company Limited awarded a total sum of 100,000 THB as scholarship grant to Panyapiwat Institute of Management, Chaengwattana Campus, to support the education for all disadvantaged students of the institution.


3 Donation Drive for PIM SMART Funds at Panyapiwat Institute of Management in 2015

As a supporting partner of Panyapiwat Institute of Management, Karmarts Public Company Limited participated in a donation drive driven by the institution and collected consumer goods totaling 2,890 pieces or 55,136 THB, all of which went to the PIM SMART funds which provides for youth welfare to benefit the needy.

1 “Smile is the sign of happiness” charity program

1 in 700 Thai children is born with cleft lip or palate disorder or both, thus the “Smile is the sign of happiness” charity program is one of Karmarts’ CSR activities to share opportunities and happiness based on our commitment to CSR policy. Co-organized by Karmarts and LIPS Magazine, the charity project targets to help the unfortunate community with Cleft Lip & Palate Anomalies by cooperating with 5 famous designers from Thai top leading brands such as Asava, Tutti, Kloset, Lalalove and VATANIKA to create magnificent design for the packaging of Cathu Doll’s No.1 best seller, L-Glutathione Magic Cream SPF50+ PA+++ 138ml Limited Edition. Part of the revenue goes to Operation Smile Thailand Foundation which specifically helps people struck with Cleft Lip and Palate Disorders nationwide. Through the program, customers of Karmarts not only gained the limited edition beauty products but also shared the beauty of smiles with the children.


2 Delivery of happiness to children in Bangkok and perimeter

Kindness and sharing makes a better world, such is the case when the strong offers helping hands to the weak. In an effort to give back to the society, Karmarts initiated an activity in 2014 during which we delivered delicious “Sunflower seed chocolate” from Korea to children around Bangkok and the perimeter including Pakkred Home for boys, Nontapum Home for disabled children, Phaya Thai Babies Home, Wat Pakkred School, National Science Museum, Wat Boh (Pakkred) and other schools around Bangkok as well as more than 20 schools around the perimeter of the capital.


3 Reaching out to prisoners at the Department of Corrections

Beyond the younger community, Karmarts went an extra mile and shared love by distributing “Sunflower seed chocolate” and donating Double Rich ‘Double Care’ Shampoo to the Department of Corrections with the intention of reaching out to prison inmates, shining the light upon them and encouraging them in their endeavors to turn over a new leaf.


4 Awareness and fund raising for ALS patients

Riding on the Ice Bucket Challenge Thailand, Karmarts management executives’ (Khun Pongwiwat Theekhakhirikul and Khun Wongwiwat Theekhakhirikul) keen participation in the challenge helped raise awareness for patient with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) disease as well as donations to the ALS under the Institute of Neurology, Ministry of Health, for equipment and supplies.


5 Sharing of Love with the Elderly

On 30 September 2014, Karmarts, together with famous Thai actor ‘Swiis Techabhuwanon’ and his fans organized a heartwarming ‘Sharing Love with the Elderly’ activity at Ban Bang Khae Elderly Home and donated dry food and other supplies to the Bang khae Home Foundation. Every staff and caregiver was given the warmest welcome by the elderly and the moments were indeed filled with joy and happiness for everyone involved.
